Sunrise Bill: How to Read and Pay It

Sunrise, like every operator in Switzerland, offers its customers the possibility to activate postpaid subscriptions with a billing cycle for the entire duration of the subscription or until an early termination of the contract. Each Sunrise customer receives a monthly bill detailing all costs incurred during the billing period and a summary of expenses to be paid using the defined payment method.

Where Can I Find My Sunrise Bills?

Every Sunrise user can access their bills anytime and anywhere via My Sunrise: within the personal area, it is possible to view bills and identify those that are still unpaid. From My Sunrise, bills can also be downloaded in PDF format or a paper copy can be requested to be sent by traditional mail.

In case of sending a paper bill, Sunrise charges an amount of CHF 5.- per invoice sent by mail. For recurring mailing, you can request the bill to be sent to your address for a fee of CHF 3.- for a bill without details or CHF 4.- for a detailed bill.

Additionally, you can set up automatic email bill delivery through My Sunrise: the two alternative options are receiving the bill via email with a link to the bill in My Sunrise or an email with the bill in PDF format attached.

Alternatively, the bill can also be received through eBill, allowing for both the receipt of bills and the possibility to pay them in one place. For this option, you need to register by linking your bank's e-banking service or PostFinance's E-Finance service.

How to Read the Sunrise Bill

Sunrise bills have a standard structure and have been simplified to quickly find the most important information. Additionally, in My Sunrise, you can access the digital bill assistant, which will help you read the bill and provide a comparison with bills from recent months.

If you want to read the Sunrise bill independently, consider the following important elements present on each page of the document:

  • Section 1: On the first page, a summary of the bill's costs is provided with a clear indication of outstanding amounts from previous bills, amounts related to the current bill, and active promotional discounts.

  • Section 2: On the second page, the VAT applied to Sunrise products (which is 8.1% from the end of 2023) is detailed.

  • Section 3: On the third page, the details of the currently active subscription fees with Sunrise are provided. Upon request, a detailed statement of the telephone connections used during the period, separated for mobile and fixed telephony, can be received.

  • Section 4: On the last page, the details of the discounts and promotions active on your Sunrise subscription are reported.

How to Pay the Sunrise Bill

As of September 30, 2022, Sunrise has also completely replaced red and orange payment slips with the new QR-bill. The QR-bill allows for easy payment of Sunrise bills.

To pay a Sunrise bill, follow these instructions:

  • Payment via Mobile Banking or E-banking: After accessing your bank's mobile services, scan the QR code on the bill, and the data will be automatically loaded. After verifying the data, proceed with the payment.

  • Payment at the postal counter: By presenting yourself at the postal counter or your bank branch, you can pay your bill in person.

Alternatively, by accessing My Sunrise, you can set up other payment methods such as direct bank debit or pay online through your TWINT, credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal account, etc.

Sunrise Bill: What Happens in Case of Non-Payment or Late Payment?

If you forget to pay the Sunrise bill within the payment terms, you will incur administrative penalties from Sunrise and risk a possible forced block of the subscription.

The reminder fee is CHF 30.- for each bill or reminder notice not paid within the correct payment terms. In case of late payment also on the reminder notice, the subscription will be temporarily blocked until full settlement of the overdue bills.

Therefore, it is important to pay close attention to the payment details and deadlines indicated on the bill. To avoid transcription errors, we recommend activating a direct debit method on the current account.
