After Sunrise and Salt, it is now yallo and Lebara’s turn: Both MVNOs owned by Sunrise have announced a price increase starting from April 1, 2025.

The low-cost virtual mobile operators (MVNOs) Lebara and yallo, owned by Sunrise, have announced an increase in their subscription prices starting in April this year.

Key Information at a Glance:

  • Starting April 1, 2025, the monthly base fee for subscriptions will increase by approximately 1.5%.

  • The increase is linked to last year’s rising costs, including electricity prices, which increased by an average of 23%.

  • The price hike applies only to mobile and data subscriptions.

  • Existing discounts will remain valid, but the discount amount will be adjusted proportionally based on the new, higher price.

  • Customers can terminate their contract to avoid the price increase.

yallo Price Increase: Affected Plans

The price increase announced by yallo does not apply to prepaid SIM cards, yallo TV subscriptions, or home internet plans. If you do not have a yallo mobile subscription, your plan will remain unchanged.

If you want to know how yallo subscription prices are changing, here is a summary:

yallo Subscription

Base Fee Increase

yallo Go, yallo Go! Max, yallo Go! S

CHF 0.50

yallo Black Max, yallo Black Plus, yallo Superfat XXL

CHF 2.00

All other yallo subscriptions (except yallo Slim, yallo Slim Plus, and yallo Zero)

CHF 1.00

These increases apply only to the base subscription fee. Existing discounts will remain valid, but they will be applied to the new, increased price.

Lebara Price Increase: What to Keep in Mind

Similar to yallo, the Lebara price increase will only apply to mobile plans and data-only subscriptions. Lebara prepaid rates are not affected.

Here is an overview of the expected price increases for Lebara plans:

  • A CHF 0.50 increase for Lebara Data and Lebara Data S data-only subscriptions.

  • A CHF 1.00 increase for all other mobile subscriptions, with no exceptions.

As mentioned earlier, the increase applies only to the base subscription fee. Existing discounts will remain unchanged and will be applied to the new price.

What Can You Do to Avoid These Increases?

If you accept the increase, you don’t need to take any action. The new prices will be reflected in your April 2025 bill, where you will see the updated monthly fee.

If you do not want to accept the price increase, you can terminate your subscription by the end of March, as stipulated in Article 19 of the general terms and conditions of yallo and Lebara.

To properly cancel your subscription, follow this contract cancellation guide and submit your request by phone or chat. Remember, cancellations via email or postal mail are not valid.

Alternatively, you can switch to a new provider, which will handle the cancellation as part of a number porting request. To find the best deal for your needs, use our free comparison tool.
