Salt is Better than Swisscom and Sunrise

This is what emerges from the latest Telekom-Rating published in August 2024 by the Bilanz magazine, which compares traditional (universal) operators. Among mobile operators, Digital Republic stands out, while among Internet and TV providers, Init7 is the champion.

Salt Wins the Title of Best Universal Telco Provider

In 2024 as well, Salt stands out as the best among traditional telecommunications service providers. The result confirms the title already obtained the previous year and highlights the investments made by Salt to offer high-quality service. Behind Salt, the positions are reversed, with Sunrise moving to second place at the expense of Swisscom, which is consequently relegated to the last step of this podium.

Here are the scores obtained in the private customer segment:

  1. Salt: 81.1 points

  2. Sunrise: 79.8 points

  3. Swisscom: 77.3 points

Digital Republic Reaffirms Its Position as the Best Mobile Operator

As in 2023, Digital Republic easily wins the award for the best mobile operator. Thanks to its fully digital service and the addition of new mobile subscriptions with roaming to its offering, Digital achieves the best score in 4 out of 5 categories, totaling 24.71 points. Behind Digital, Galaxus and Teleboy complete the podium. TalkTalk loses the most positions, falling from seventh to thirteenth place. Swisscom, with the worst score in the price and customer support criteria, ranks last in this category.

Init7 Wins Two Categories in the Telekom-Rating

Init7 takes home the gold medal in both the Internet provider and TV categories. It's no coincidence that the partnership with Zattoo, which also led to the launch of the Zattoo Home internet and TV bundle, has borne the desired fruit. In just one year, Init7 climbs five positions in the TV ranking, reaching the top and overtaking iWay. This latter operator can still be satisfied as it ranks among the top four in all categories (including fixed-line telephony and cloud services).

How the Bilanz Telekom Rating Works

This ranking is conducted annually by the experts of Bilanz magazine and has reached its twenty-fifth edition. The magazine's team conducts nationwide surveys, gathering direct feedback from customers of various operators, focusing on quality, innovation, price, flexibility, and customer support. During the data collection process, around 50,000 private customers and 20,000 business customers of various sizes are contacted. The responses to the questions assign a score from 1 to 6, and the sum of the average scores obtained in each category and each customer segment gives the operator a rating from 5 to 30 points.

How to Find the Right Provider for Me?

To identify the provider that best suits your needs, using a ranking like the Bilanz Telekom-Rating can certainly be a good method, but unfortunately, it is not enough. Every user has different needs, and what may be a 10-point service for one customer could be a 5-point service for another. For this reason, it's a good practice to use the rating to identify a group of interesting operators and then check the various offers proposed by them to find the best one for you. If you want to avoid visiting different websites and wasting time, use an online subscription comparison tool like the one from internet-offer and get information on all the subscriptions offered by various operators in just a few minutes, and find the one that suits you in 2 clicks.
